Our beginnings date back to 1964 in Barcelona, when Lluís Generó Domènech founded Yerse, a family business that continues to be a benchmark in knitwear, specifically jersey, today. Mr. Generó was a visionary who knew that the brand should transmit a sense of fashion and quality above all else. This principle has remained unchanged, together with our desire to be sustainable by introducing textures and materials that are environmentally responsible and contribute to people’s well-being. We create designs that leave their mark, guided by feminine intuition, with our hearts set on tradition and our eyes on the future. We are a principled brand that wants to contribute to society beyond fashion and image. We have a commitment to responsibility to both our social and natural environment. We join up with social inclusion projects and work to minimize the environmental impact of our actions. The quality of the materials we use and the sensitivity of our designs are made to last in the memories of women who wear Yerse and to become part of them. The tradition of our origins in knitwear grant us authenticity. We have woven a long journey to get to where we are today. We know the trade and our expertise distinguishes us. We breed confidence through our clothes. We are the must have that never fails, the safe bet for any occasion.
We work with fine, durable and highly sustainable materials that allow us to create responsibly minded collections. More than 90% of our collections are made with fibres of natural origin and 28% with organic materials. Every season we go one step further, introducing new environmentally friendly materials.
We only know one way to create fashion: Slowly. Our clothes bring with them an attitude of responsibility: towards the environment, towards the producers who manufacture them and towards the women who wear them. That implies humanized production rhythms that are not the fastest, but the most conscious. Because doing things well takes time. Beyond selling clothes, we have a commitment to the environment and to people. We actively work to be as sustainable as possible and to contribute to the well-being of the most vulnerable groups. We make the commitment. Since 2008, we have been collaborating with various projects such as Moltacte (Manresa); a multi-brand stock-selling initiative that provides employment for people with mental health difficulties. Molí de Puigvert Foundation (Palafolls) is another initiative that promotes the inclusion in work and life of people struggling with their mental health. The Fundació is specialized in developing social and occupational rehabilitation programs for people with this profile. Other projects include CIPO Sabadell, Oncolliga and Hermanas Casa de Sabadell.
We know how, when and where to place each thread so that our clothes accentuate the femininity of the woman who wears them. We choose the best fabrics, we work on the finishes, we sew each piece with the utmost care, all the while looking for our characteristic differentiating touch. We create unique prints and mix materials to offer maximum comfort. We always keep in mind how to guarantee the quality that makes our clothes stay perfect for a long time. We manufacture in different countries, always striving for the best result: quality, sustainability and ethics. We prioritize working with companies that share our same values. Family businesses with artisan experience that take the greatest care throughout the entire process. Due to our origins in the production of knitwear, we have continued to work with small local ateliers since 1964. Yerse is made in the following countries: 41.4% China, 38.5% India, 12.4% Turkey, 3.6% Portugal, 2.4% Spain & 1.8% Madagascar.
